Tula Q. Photography
Hey! I’m Tula.
I grew up some in rural NC, some in urban Los Angeles, and moved to Seattle after high school. Yup, you guessed it – I love biscuits, street food, and extra dry cappuccinos. Also love: my sweet family, s’mores, fall weather, that weird almond scented hand soap, reading books, terrible reality television, snuggles, waffles and many other basic but delightful things.
I love people in general, and especially empowering mothers to feel good in their bodies is a huge part of why I do what I do. I believe that by co-creating art we can break down some old negative ideas about appearance and I can help give you physical reminders (hello, prints!) of how stinkin’ beautiful you are inside and out (pinkie swear!). I love to take pictures of families: old and new, small and large. I truly treasure every session I have the privilege of shooting and I am so excited to capture images that will help you see beauty in your everyday. I have a special place in my heart for birth photography and messy, authentic moments.
We might have a really good time together if you are hopelessly in love: with your partner, with your baby, with yourself – or maybe if you’re the luckiest – all of the above, and you want authentic portraits of a moment in time. You don’t mind if your hair is in your face but you want the emotions to shine through each image. You probably won’t show up wearing matching shirts and you’re probably going to look back and laugh at the pictures of your child gleefully ruining their outfit at whatever location we choose.
We’ll probably laugh, there could be tacos, and there will almost definitely be coffee.
