Documentary Family Session at Home: Wilmington NC Photographer

Family

When clients are booking their family sessions, they often ask me: “what should we wear for our session?” I get this question a lot you guys. And my answer is really always the same, I will tell you that while you may want to avoid obvious logos or completely clashing patterns, generally I think you should wear what makes you feel comfortable, because for me – the shoot matters! I want you to look back on your pictures and remember a fun afternoon, a chance to slow down, take a breath, enjoy your people. I don’t want to stress anyone out or give you photos that in the end just remind you of when the photographer finally managed to bribe/con everyone to look at the camera at the same time for a second.

Let’s document your now. Let’s celebrate the people you love and meet them exactly where they are. Is your toddler obsessed with some particular odd thing? Bring it! Does your baby make a hilarious face or scoot across the floor not quite crawling in a hilarious way? Let’s catch it – and your belly laughs! – on film!

Light + love, friends. It’s what makes the world go ’round.

All photos shot on Portra 800 + 400 or Tri-X 400 film on a Mamiya 645AF or Canon EOS 3 and developed and scanned for me by the fantastic folks at The FIND Lab.

Do you think I might be your people? Think we might have a good time? Well, I’d be happy to buy you a cup of coffee so you can find out! 910.557.2770 yup, you can text me 😉
