I am so glad that Jess and her sweet family have made regular trips back here since they moved inland, and that on one of those trips back to Wrightsville Beach we decided to do this fun family shoot. We had really cute plans for this session: I brought colorful beach towels, they bought ice cream cones at the sweet little stand…and then the toddler saw the ocean. Truth be told, I like the way it turned out better than what we had planned.

I love when kids can be kids during photo sessions, and I really really love when parents let it be, sit back, and even join in. I always hope to capture moments that sum up the time in a family’s life and I find that it is much easier to do that with everyone acting for the most part like I am not there.[Canon EOS 3, Portra 400, FIND lab]
